Qui raccolgo alcune attività nate un po’ ai margini della mia professione. Abitando dal 1986 in una città meravigliosa ma complessa come Venezia, mi sono spesso trovata a realizzare mappe, libri e video pensati per aiutare amici e visitatori curiosi a comprenderla meglio. E, soprattutto, a rispettarla.
La mia prima guida, Venezia. Osterie e dintorni, fu pubblicata nel 1994: un libricino snello con una mappa allegata (che all’epoca avevo pazientemente disegnato a mano su acetati da fotolito). Ebbe un discreto successo e la sua sesta e ultima edizione uscì nel 2015. Oggi si può ancora trovare sporadicamente in qualche remainder, ma ormai è diventata quasi un reperto storico. In totale, tra le varie edizioni e traduzioni, credo abbia raggiunto circa 30.000 copie vendute. Nel frattempo il numero di ristoranti e “osterie” è esploso e perfino io faccio fatica a orientarmi, nonostante l’abbondanza di influencer e recensori digitali.
Nel 1996 pubblicai Venezia. Botteghe e dintorni, molto apprezzata soprattutto nelle edizioni inglese e francese, anche se non ne realizzai mai una seconda edizione.
Nel 2007, nella stessa collana, uscì Murano. Guida completa all’isola (anch’essa tradotta in inglese). Questa è l'unica pubblicazione che a volte aggiorno e potete ancora trovare.
Infine, nel 2013 la casa editrice BUR mi propose di scrivere Venezia low cost, al di là del titolo è una guida che racconta la città con uno sguardo più accessibile e pratico.

Un altro progetto a cui tengo molto è Venice Backstage: progetto sviluppato con mio fratello Nicolò per raccontare in modo chiaro e accessibile il funzionamento e la struttura di Venezia.
Nel 2003 ho partecipato come una dei quattro protagonisti al docufilm Venetian Dilemma, che esplorava i contrasti e le complessità del vivere a Venezia (spoiler: si vede la nascita del mio secondo figlio). Oggi siamo messi molto peggio anche se rimane una città straordinaria. Per ora.

Beyond my professional work, living since 1986 in a city as wonderful and complex as Venice has almost naturally led me to create maps, books, and videos designed to help friends and curious visitors discover it more deeply—and, above all, to respect it.
My first guide, Venice. Osterie e dintorni, was published in 1994: a slim little book with an attached map (which I had painstakingly drawn by hand on photolitho acetates at the time). It enjoyed a fair success, and its sixth and final edition came out in 2015. Today it can still occasionally be found in a few remainders, but it has by now become almost a historical artifact. Altogether, across the various editions and translations, I believe it reached around 30,000 copies sold. In the meantime, the number of restaurants and “osterie” has exploded, and even I struggle to find my way through them, despite the abundance of influencers and digital reviewers.

Finally, in 2013, the publisher BUR invited me to write Venice Low Cost, a guide conceived to present the city from a more accessible and practical perspective.

Another project I deeply care about is Venice Backstage, developed together with my brother Nicolò to explain, in a clear and accessible way, how Venice actually works and is structured.
